ChildAbuseMD.com and .org Privacy Policy

The public areas of ChildAbuseMD.com and ChampProgram.com do not use cookies, nor do they include any trackers of any kind. Our hosting company does record IP address for general logging of site traffic but at no point do we attempt to link that to any individual device or location. It is only used for analyzing site usage and making anonymized statistical reports about total visitors and pathways through the website for quality improvement purposes. We collect no unnecessary information from general usage of this website. Our web statistics analysis is done in house and the logging data is never uploaded or shared with a third party.

If you create an account we will store additional information about you. If you login using an existing account, we will set a cookie that is used only to authorize you to use the protected resources. If you do not wish to have a tracking cookie set on your device by this website, please do not create an account and use the login feature. If you wish to reduce the tracking we do once you have an account, please use the LOG OUT function as soon as you are finished with the protected resources. This will instruct your browser to delete the cookie immediately by resetting it to an expired time and date. At that point we will no longer be tracking you with that cookie and the policy in paragraph one applies again.

The data we collect on the registration form is used to identify you if you need assistance with using your account and for anonymized statistical reporting to our funding bodies. It is also used in report form to help us make decisions about what resource needs we should be meeting. If you have an account and wish to have your information removed from our records, please contact champ@upstate.edu and make your request. Please provide enough information in your request/or contact us from the email you used to create the account so we can more easily verify your identity. Account information is being stored on the same network as the web host and is only accessed from within our server. It is not shared with any third parties in any individually identifiable form. We retain this information indefinitely.

If you access a Survey they are hosted on a third party and their privacy policies will apply. There is otherwise no connection to this third party.

Coursework Additional Disclosures

CHAMP uses the information that you provide when you create a coursework account to give you access to the courses and CHAMP may track when you access these courses. If you take an automatically graded test, CHAMP only reports the pass/fail information to you. CHAMP may also use your contact information to notify you about new coursework.

In order to grant you Continuing Medical Education (CME) credits, the SUNY Buffalo CME Office requires we share the registration information you provided. Therefore, CHAMP will share your information with the SUNY Buffalo CME Office if you take a course for CME credit and pay the CME fee. If you are a board certified pediatrician and are taking coursework for American Board of Pediatrics Maintenance of Certification (MOC) credit and pay the MOC fee, the SUNY Buffalo CME Office will share your identifying information with the American Board of Pediatrics so that you receive MOC points. CHAMP does not share your registration information with anyone else.
